Ostriches and me go a while back. I’ve painted a few over the years and I just love them. They manage to look comical yet graceful at the same time and they are fascinating creatures.
I painted a large ostrich (see Glass Menagerie section) called Opulence. I though I would created a younger sibling for Opulence so we now have Decadence!
Opulence had a velvet curtain and Decadence has a luxurious black chandelier. I have been adding elements of home decor into my latest paintings as I love the idea of mixing wildlife with interiors. I’m mixing the tame and the wild by adding vases, curtains and lamps. Hope you enjoy this piece as much I loved painting it!
