Like the “Spring Floras”, this piece is painted on the inside of a glass frame. It is part of a new collection of paintings on glass I started in February 2020.
I wanted to create a piece that had an airy, Spring feel to it. The colourful kingfisher bird is sitting on a branch surrounded by ripe raspberries. I loved using vibrant colours and the raspberries look like shining gemstones. As per my normal style of painting, I left a lot of blank space on the glass so the wall behind the piece is visible and the scene appears to be floating in mid-air.
